So I bought this a few years ago at my wine shop. I've cellared it since and opened it tonight for some of my wife's awesome meatloaf. As a certified Syrah crazed maniac I was super excited for this. Steven's has gotten some good press, they are from right around the road in Woodinville, and with a name like Black Tongue it has to be big!
2006 Stevens Black Tongue Syrah
Popped and poured through a Vinturi. Almost black in color, a deep purple with bright red on the edges. Nose is very good with blackberries, wet stone, cedar and some meat. Needed air to open. Full bodied, good structure, tannins and acid. With 30 minute decant, dark fruit and pepper rounded out the finish. 88 pts
