So my wife and I were invited over the weekend to Michael Mina’s new Seattle restaurant RN74. It’s the latest extension of his restaurant success and he brought it here. Thank you Michael.  The event was a preview party that included small food being passed and served throughout the space.  The ambiance was super industrial – retro – high end whiskey bar feel.  There was a great mix of antique light bulbs with the filaments lighted in large tubes and sleek glass shades that cover hanging lights throughout. Overall, a very nice space.

The food was amazing as one should expect from Michael. We had some great oysters in the half shell, gooey duck, and cocktails upon arriving.  The stars of the night food wise for us was the beef bourgeon and the passed tuna poke on a little rice pillow of goodness.  If I hadn’t been driving I would have loved to share many glasses of wine. Among those being poured were DeLille’s Chaleur Blanc (always a favorite), Northstar’s Columbia Valley Merlot, some Sleight of Hand red and the glass I chose, aMaurice Syrah.  Really good Washington wine. Good play. There were others, but I can’t remember them all.  Point is, get out to dinner here, if you love food or wine, you won’t be disappointed.

A quick thank you to our friends and Real Retail for giving us this opportunity. We met Michael while there as well, a real great guy who spent a few minutes chatting with us during his busy evening.
